Many factors affect bending accuracy, including the unevenness of sheet thickness and mechanical properties, rolling direction, the accuracy of bending machine and die, and the rigidity of bending machine. These factors all affect the workpiece’s angular error (as shown in Figure 1) and straightness error (as shown in Figure 2).

 

 

During operation, the slider and worktable upright of the bending machine will undergo deflection deformation (as shown in Figure 3).

 

When bending the workpiece, the depth to which the upper die enters the lower die will be inconsistent along the entire length, ultimately affecting bending accuracy. To reduce or eliminate the impact of these adverse factors and improve part accuracy, deflection compensation must be implemented on the bending machine. Configuring a high-precision convex worktable (as shown in Figure 4) is the most economical and effective choice.
